Learn about integrated pest management at Oktoberpest workshops

By Curt Kipp — Posted September 20, 2011

It’s almost that time of year again, for beer, sausage … and bugs. That’s right — the lineup for the annual OktoberPest workshop series is all set. Sessions will be offered every Thursday in October at the North Willamette Research and Extension Center, 15201 N.E. Miley Road, Aurora, Ore. The series is aimed at helping nursery, greenhouse and Christmas tree growers learn more about integrated pest management. The dates and topics are as follows:

  • Oct. 6 — Looking for Trouble: Tools and Techniques for Monitoring Pests in Nurseries and Christmas Trees
  • Oct. 13 — What Next? Emerging Issues in Ornamental Plant Production
  • Oct. 20 — Weed Wars: Weed Management for Nursery Production
  • Oct. 27 — Basic Training: Key Principles of Integrated Pest Management (in Spanish)

Each workshop costs $25. Click here for the complete workshop agendas and to register. For details, contact Jan Egli at 503-678-1264, ext. 110 or jan.egli@oregonstate.edu, or email Robin Rosetta at robin.rosetta@oregonstate.edu.
